Brawlerverse Month-A-Versary Celebration and What’s Next

The Brawlerverse bell rang on March 30, 2022, and it’s safe to say that WAX and the world of Play-and-Earn will never be the same again!
Launching Blockchain Brawlers was no small feat, and we’re extraordinarily proud to see everything the game and our growing community have accomplished in just one short month. It hasn’t come without a few twists and turns, but we’re well on our way to a full-blown Brawlerverse.
The following is an overview of everything that’s happened over the past month and a look into what’s gearing up to be a really exciting future.
Blockchain Brawlers Beta Begins
Following two rounds of action-packed “Founder’s Edition” Legendary 1-of-1 auctions, our highly-anticipated Blockchain Brawlers beta game went live on March 30.
In the first week alone, we saw $357 million in transactions.
And it wasn’t long before the game caught the attention of Yahoo! News, CBS, Cointelegraph, CoinDesk, Crypto News-Herald, Coinstack and more.
If you haven’t gotten in on the action yet, now’s the time! Check out our beginner’s guide here.
Economy Changes, Shifts and Turns
As we progressed over the course of the month, we closely watched and analyzed gameplay in action, and our tokenomics team realized that some game economy changes were needed.
The initial set of changes were implemented to address the Gold NFT drop rates across the board and the power curves on BRWL for four of our five rarities. These changes were made with the longevity of Blockchain Brawlers in mind.
The great news is that these changes have yielded the results we were hoping to see. The economy is now coming into shape as the flywheel starts to spin.
Also, after careful consideration, and with the community’s best interests in mind, we then initiated the “Big Burn,” where the total BRWL pool dropped from 1 trillion down to 1 billion tokens, further solidifying the game’s sound economic standing for generations to come.
PvP is also well on its way as we look toward transitioning from the “Mining Phase” into a more gameplay-heavy phase where Richard Garfield, the creator of Magic: The Gathering, is heading the project.
Legendary 1-of-1 Auction Highlights
“Founder’s Edition” Legendary 1-of-1 auctions continued throughout the month of April on WAX Digital Auctions with sales totaling over 5.6M WAXP. The NFTs with the top bids include Dave Racing Greene (165,648.83 WAXP), The Glitterati Kid (130,536 WAXP) and Grand Canyon (111,000 WAXP).
If you’ve been wanting to get your hands on one of these bad boys, the auctions continue to roll. Check them out here!
Get Swaggy and Strut Your Stuff
Last month was about more than just big auctions and noteworthy gameplay changes — we also introduced Swag Kits and Profile Pictures (PFP). These give players the opportunity to permanently reskin Standard Brawlers and then show off their creations.
The first Swag Kit released was the “Neon Freak” Swag with colorful retro spandex, followed later by the “Shoulders and Spikes” Swag to promote your Brawler’s rough and tough side.
Plus, we announced that “Founder’s Edition” Legendary Brawlers and Swagged Brawlers have access to a special PFP that can be used across social media channels — because who wouldn’t want to be front and center?
A Bright Spring and Summer to Come
The future is indeed bright for Blockchain Brawlers!
As JustMike has said, “April was one heck of a month, but May is already shaping up to be even more exciting with the deployment of four new features leading into our biggest marketing and promotional push ever.”
Summer aims to bring even more to the squared circle, including Factions and Leaderboard competitions, a new Brawler or two and plenty of fun to boot.
The rowdiest play-to-earn game in the Brawlerverse continues to heat up. Keep Brawling, crafting and earning to prepare for the wildest ride of your blockchain life.
We can’t wait to see what developments await us in the months ahead and beyond. Curious to see what May has in store for players? Click here for an overview of what to expect.
